Spring Cleaning for your Business

Spring Cleaning for Your Business

Spring is here and many people take the opportunity to declutter and clean their homes.  Business Owners can also use Spring as the perfect time to evaluate and refresh their businesses as well.  Spring is the perfect time to start fresh and spruce up your business.

Spring Cleaning Business Tasks

  1. Declutter and organize – Take the time to go through desks, clean out what is not needed, and re-organize personal workspaces and storage areas. Digital decluttering also helps increase productivity, old emails can be archived, files that are not needed can be deleted, to clean up space, especially in email clients that might have a storage limit.
  2. Refresh your social media and Website – This is a perfect time to evaluate if your social media accounts and website need to be fine-tuned or updated.  Ensure that your website accurately reflects your goals and your client demographics.
  3. Business Plan Review – This goes together with the above task. A static and stale business plan does not encourage growth.  What are your business goals and how do you want to achieve them?  Look at your business plan and how to best reach your target audience.  This is a good time to consider your current and future marketing plans as well.
  4. Spring Maintenance – Along with organize and decluttering, this is a good time to do a safety walkthrough of the business, inside and out, and make sure there are no maintenance or repair items that need taken care of.
  5. Safety Review – Spring is perfect for evaluating your company safety measures and make sure nothing needs updated. Ensure all exits and entrances have signs and are not obstructed.
  6. Cybersecurity review – Ensure that you have adequate cybersecurity protocols in place, and that your employees are aware of how to avoid phishing scams and other threats. Cyber Liability Insurance is always recommended for businesses of all sizes, and many policies come with benefits such as security and vulnerability reviews, and courses to teach employees how to avoid common phishing and malware attempts.
  7. Review your insurance policies – Review your insurance policies to ensure that you have adequate coverage for both Liability and Property, and if you need other coverages, such as Auto, Cyber Liability, Professional Liability, Directors and Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Workers Compensation, or Inland Marine.

At Fixated Financial, we can help to support your business by ensuring that you have the appropriate insurance coverage to protect your business.  We provide insurance reviews and will be happy to go over your business operations and review your current policies to discuss any potential coverage gaps and to provide quotes from our carriers.
